Blockchain games are on 🔥🔥 these days and Splinterlands is one of them. Splinterlands is one of my favorite games so far. If you are new to this game, read this. In this splinterlands review, I am going to share one of the gameplays and talk about some cards I used. Hope you enjoy it!
Table of Contents
Featured Card: Naga Assassin
Naga Assassin is a rare dragon ranged attacker with only 2 mana cost. It gets the backfire ability on level 4 and the swiftness ability on level 8. Max level 4 Naga Assassin can be used in the silver league, so the backfire ability is available in it. Naga Assassin is quite versatile because of its low mana cost and splinter(dragon), and its backfire ability is fun and often helpful.

The battle was held in the silver league. The mana cap was 22 and the rulesets were ‘Equalizer’ and ‘Lost Legendaries’. I picked a dragon team with life splinter cards. The cards that I used were;
– Kretch Tallvor
– Furious Chicken
– Pelacor Conjurer
– Naga Assassin
– Venari Crystalsmith
– Pelacor Arbalest
– Gloridax Soldier
The enemy team was a death team with Contessa as a summoner. The cards that the opponent used were;
– Contessa La’ment
– Cursed Windeku
– Carrion Shade
– Undead Badger
– Life Sapper
– Soul Strangler
– Dark Astronomer
Kretch Tallevor is a very simple summoner with no ability. Cheaper Dragon summoners usually cost 4~5 mana, however Kretch only costs 3 mana. This saved mana may be used to place one more monster.
Furious Chicken is a very popular card because of its utility. It only has 1 speed and 1 health, but since it costs no mana it can really be put anywhere anytime. It can fill up an empty spot and take some damage. It is especially great when used with Mylor, because it can give the enemy one more thorns attack!
Pelacor Conjurer is a low mana cost supporter/tank. It has the flying ability on level 1 and gets the magic reflect ability on level 4. It has quite high speed, and with the flying ability it can evade attacks quite often. The magic Reflect ability is also very helpful when dealing with a magic team. Because of its low mana cost, it is very versatile.
Naga Assassin is an interesting ranged attacker. It only costs 2 mana so it can be used in many different circumstances. It has high speed and the backfire ability. It doesn’t evade attacks every time, but when it does it gets quite fun and helpful for a team. It only has 2 health, but while leveling up, it gets more health.
Venari Crystalsmith is a new reward card. It is similar to Divine Healer but it costs one more mana but it gets more speed and also ranged attack. If I compare level 1 cards, I personally prefer Venari to Divine Healer. Stats are better and it is much cheaper.
Pelacor Arbalest is a powerful ranged attacker. It is similar to Axemaster of water splinter, because they both have the double strike ability. Arbalest makes a great synergy with the summoner General Sloan.
Gloridax Soldier’s shield ability is important when dealing with non-magic attackers, and flying ability can be also useful. It has relatively low speed, but flying gives it 25% chance of evading attacks. Evading a few attacks could be a huge deal because in many battles only one or two hits can determine a result of a battle.

■ Tell us about your lineup. Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with the monster.
Since one of the rulesets was ‘Equalizer’, I placed Furious Chicken in the front end as a tank. Pelacor Conjurer was in the second position as a tank as well because it is strong against any kinds of attacks. Naga Assassin was placed in the third position, hoping it would evade some attacks, as a sub-tank and also an attacker. Gloridax Soldier was in the back-end as a possible sneak attack blocker. My main attackers were Venari Crystalsmith and Pelacor Arbalest. They were placed in between Naga A and Gloridax S and well protected.
■ Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
I wasn’t sure I would win, because my main attackers were ranged attackers and Contessa made them weak. However, I was able to win the battle because every monster in my team did their part well. Crystalsmith’s healing was crucial. Moreover Conjurer and Naga Assassin evaded a lot of attacks, and it definitely helped.
■ Do you like the monster? Why or why not?
I made Naga Assassin level 4 in the beginning of the release of Chaos reward cards and it was worth it. Naga Assassin is quite versatile, the design is cool, and it is exciting to watch it evades some attacks. I love it.
I’m really enjoying the game! All the beautiful cards, strategies and battles are fun and exciting. Are you also enjoying the game? Aren’t you playing the game yet? If you aren’t, come join us here. It is so much fun! You will love it!
In the next article, I will talk about other monsters and battles. Stay tuned! See ya.
