Blockchain games are on 🔥🔥 these days and Splinterlands is one of them. Splinterlands is one of my favorite games so far. If you are new to this game, read this. In this splinterlands review, I am going to share one of the gameplays and talk about some cards I used. Hope you enjoy it!
Table of Contents
Featured Card: Goblin Shaman
Goblin Shaman is a common fire monster. It does not have any attack on level 1, but gets 1 magic attack on level 3. It has the weaken ability which reduces all enemy monsters’ health by 1. In the silver league, you can use max level 5 Goblin Shaman and it also gets the slow ability on level 5. It can be a helpful supporter in a team.

The battle was held in the silver league. The mana cap was 18 and the ruleset was ‘Equal Opportunity’. My team was focused on high speed attackers and for that, I used Pyre as my summoner. Cards that I used were;
– Furious Chicken
– Goblin Shaman
– Exploding Rats
– Spark Pixies
The enemy was also a fire team with Pyre. The enemy team was;
– Livin Lava
– Serpentine Spy
– Kobold Bruiser
– Ant Miners
Pyre is a fire summoner and he gives all friendly monsters +1 speed. I think higher speed is more useful in lower mana capped battles. Because monsters used in lower mana capped battles usually have lower health, if you hit the enemy first and finish them off then they won’t even have a chance to attack you.
Furious Chicken is a very popular card because of its utility. It only has 1 speed and 1 health, but since it costs no mana it can really be put anywhere anytime. It can fill up an empty spot and take some damage. It is especially great when used with Mylor, because it can give the enemy one more thorns attack!
Goblin Shaman is a fine supporter with the weaken ability. The weaken ability can be useful because even one health can make a difference on many occasions. If there are 6 monsters in the enemy team, the weaken ability is the same as dealing 6 more damages. Goblin Shaman also has 4 health and can be used as a snipe blocker as well.
Exploding Rats is an interesting monster. It is definitely not an all-rounder but it does have some utility. It only has 1 health but it has relatively higher speed and the blast ability. I often use this card in the equalizer or the equal opportunity ruleset.
Spark Pixies only has 1 health but it got 2 ranged attack, 5 speed and the flying ability. It is one of the monsters with the highest speed on level 1. High speed and the flying ability give it a higher chance to evade attacks. Since it costs 4 mana, it can also be used in the little league ruleset.
Cerberus is a low mana cost tank with the heal ability. The heal ability itself makes it useful in many circumstances. In the silver league, you can get up to 3 attack and 7 health Cerberus, and this makes it quite a powerful monster.

■ Tell us about your lineup. Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with the monster.
I picked the monsters with higher speed stats, which were Exploding Rats, Spark Pixies and Cerberus. Chicken was placed in the front-end to protect my dealers with 1 health from an opportunity attack. I chose to reduce enemies’ health with Goblin Shaman and finish them right away, instead of having a proper tank. Exploding Rats and Spark Pixies are in the middle. Cerberus was placed in the back-end to protect other dealers from possible sneak attacks.
■ Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My plan was to reduce enemies’ health with Goblin Shaman, and then hit first and finish them within the first turn with my high speed monsters. For that, I chose Pyre as my summoner. Even though the enemy team was also a Pyre team, my monsters were faster and I won. If my Goblin Shaman has the slow ability, it will be even more helpful.
■ Do you like the monster? Why or why not?
Goblin Shaman is a fine supporter. The weaken ability is useful and 1 magic attack and the slow ability in higher levels also seems nice. But sometimes it is better just to use one more attacker than Goblin Shaman, so you gotta make your team smart.
I’m really enjoying the game! All the beautiful cards, strategies and battles are fun and exciting. Are you also enjoying the game? Aren’t you playing the game yet? If you aren’t, come join us here. It is so much fun! You will love it!
In the next article, I will talk about other monsters and battles. Stay tuned! See ya.
