Blockchain games are on 🔥🔥 these days and Splinterlands is one of them. Splinterlands is one of my favorite games so far. If you are new to this game, read this. In this article, I am going to share one of the gameplays and talk about some cards I used. Hope you enjoy it!

Featured Card: Centauri Mage
Splinterlands
Centauri Mage is an earth splinter card that costs 7 mana. On level 1, it has 1 magic attack, 3 speed, 9 health and return fire ability. It gets repair ability on level 5, which can be used in and above the gold league. I haven’t used over level 5 Centauri yet, and I expect if it is combined with a tank with armor or Drake of Arnak, the synergy would be great. Since it is not a melee card with high health and return fire ability, I mostly put it in a second position as a snipe blocker.
The Battle

This battle was held in the Silver League. The mana cap was 44. The game rules were ‘Target Practice’ and ‘Odd Ones Out’. Death and fire splinters couldn’t be used. I picked the strong Mylor team. Cards that I used were;
– Mylor Crowling
– Nectar Queen
– Centauri Mage
– Venari Seedsmith
– Mushroom Seer
– Sand Worm
– Earth Elemental
The enemy team was a water team with mainly magic with a ranged and a sneak melee attacker. The enemy team were;
– Bortus
– Torhilo The Frozen
– Sand Worm
– Magi Sphinx
– Captain’s Ghost
– Axemaster
– Crustacean King
My Team
Splinterlands
Not many words are needed for Mylor Crowling. A robust powerful summoner with super ‘thorns’ which will carry you to silver smoothly.
Splinterlands
Nectar Queen is a well rounded tank which can be used in many circumstances. It has a high health and high attack with flying ability. When I am not sure what kind of dealers the enemy team is gonna bring, I usually go with Nectar Queen.
Splinterlands
Centauri Mage is a robust sub-tank for ranged attacks. It has high health with return fire ability. When I am expecting snipe attackers, especially ranged attackers, I usually use Centauri Mage.
Splinterlands
One of the new reward cards, Venari Seedsmith! I’m growing fond of him. It has a nice 2 ranged attack and my favorite ability scavenger. If it is not killed at the beginning, it can be a tank in emergency situations.
Splinterlands
One of the essential cards when dealing with a magic team. Mushroom Seer has low health, but it’s silence ability is often a game changer.
Splinterlands
A strong sneak attacker with 5 melee attack. Sand Worm has low speed so it misses from time to time, but when it doesn’t, it can finish the enemies with a few blows. I wrote an article about Sand Worm in the past. Check it out.
Splinterlands
Earth Elemental is such a good card, because it is hard to find a 6 health non-melee monster with only 3 mana cost. So it can be used as a protection from sneak or snipe attacks. I use it a lot in low mana battles.

■ Tell us about your lineup. Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with the monster.
Since the rule was every ranged and magic monster gets snipe ability, Centauri Mage was a perfect monster for this battle. And I placed it in the second position to block snipe attacks. Main tank was Nectar Queen, Venari Seedsmith was a dealer and sub-tank for an emergency. I expected a heavy magic team as an opponent so I used Mushroom Seer. It was not so much heavy magic but still it worked. Sand Worm was my main dealer, and Earth Elemental was a sneak attack blocker.
■ Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Centauri Mage’s return fire almost killed the enemy’s Axemaster and it took a lot of damage until it died. I think my strategy was pretty fine, and I definitely want to try a higher level Centauri Mage with a higher magic attack.
■ Do you like the monster? Why or why not?
I bought Centauri Mage early on in the game and since then I have been using it quite often in my earth team. It is a great snipe blocker and sub-tank. The design is very nice, and it is not too expensive for beginners. I’ll keep using the card and maybe get a higher level card in the future.
I’m really enjoying the game! All the beautiful cards, strategies and battles are fun and exciting. Are you also enjoying the game? Aren’t you playing the game yet? If you aren’t, come join us here. It is so much fun! You will love it!
In the next article, I will talk about other monsters and battles. Stay tuned! See ya.
