Blockchain games are HOT right now and Splinterlands is one of them. This article is about Splinterlands review and gameplay. Hope you enjoy it!
What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using blockchain technology, players can buy, sell, and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably. *
@splinterlands is a @play2earn card game built on blockchain technology. There are several ways to earn real money playing the game. Also if you own cards on your account, that means you really ‘own’ it and nobody can take it away from you. You can sell or rent your cards to other players.

One of the things that I really like about this game is I don’t have to spend too much time on it. When the match begins you can click the fast forward button and play it 2x or 3x speed. There is also a ‘skip to results’ button so that you can see the result right away. This feature can save us so much time and still enjoy the game.
How to Start?
Splinterlands is free to play, however in order to earn real-valued rewards and unlock the full potential of blockchain-based gaming, players are required to obtain the Summoner’s Spellbook. The Summoner’s Spellbook can be purchased in the in-game shop for $10 via PayPal or various cryptocurrencies. Purchasing the Summoner’s Spellbook allows you to choose a unique account name, access your blockchain account keys, unlock the ability to earn rewards with real value, and more! **

You get starter cards after you bought the Summoner’s Spellbook. It gives you more than 90 cards that you can use in battles. There is an ‘S mark’ on every starter card. You do not own those cards, so you cannot sell it or rent it out. You can only use them in battles.
Featured Card - 'Sand Worm'
Splinterlands
I want to introduce one monster card to you. The name is Sand Worm. It is not a pretty-looking creature but quite powerful. Level 1 Sand Worm cost 9 mana, which is very high, but 5 melee attack makes it worth it. 1 speed is low but still with 5 melee attack it can finish most of monsters in one blow. Also, with 5 health it can take a few attacks, which is nice.
Level 1 Sand Worm has an ability ‘Sneak’. Sneak makes it target the last monster of the enemy team. Time to time when the enemy team “sneaked” a tank on the last position, Sand Worm can finish em off easily.

■ Tell us about your lineup. Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with the monster.
I placed a Furious Chicken in the second position to protect other monsters from the enemy who has an ability ‘snipe’. Cerberus is on the next to be a tank just in case when the Livin Lava dies. Sand Worm is in the last position to protect Creeping Ooze and Serpentine Spy. And if every other monsters die, Sand Worm can be a tank and a melee attacker.
■ Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Sand Worm killed Water Elemental quickly which could be a pain in the butt. It also survived alone and finished the battle and led it to victory. I might put the Sand Worm in the middle of the deck and see how it goes.
■ Do you like the monster? Why or why not?
I rented the Sand Worm to play few games and it led me to many victories. It is indeed a quite powerful monster and cheap. I enjoyed having it on my team and maybe I will buy the card.
I’m really enjoying the game! All the strategies and battles are exciting and fun. What do you guys think? Do you wanna know more about Splinterlands? Stay tuned. In the next post, I will talk about another monster and battles.
